We offer the same services that banks do, but we are different in two important ways.
For many local people, Aotearoa Credit Union is their one-stop
financial shop. Just like the banks, we provide loans, savings and
investment accounts, and insurance services. We also have local
branches, and offer 24-hour phone banking and ATM/EFTPOS
facilities.
But here's how we're different:
We're not for profit
Credit unions put people before profit. Once our overheads are
paid, all ACU's profits are returned to our members
through very competitive interest rates on savings,
low-cost loans, improved services, and reduced fees.
We're 100% locally owned
Being 100% locally owned and operated, all our profits (after
providing for necessary reserves) are returned through competitive
interest rates on savings, low cost loans, and reasonable fees ...
possibly even no fees.
